This tutorial will guide you through your first file renaming experience with Renamio.
Interface Overview
Renamio's main interface is divided into several key areas:
1. File List Area
- Displays files and folders to be renamed
- Shows original names and new name previews
- Supports drag-and-drop file addition
2. Rule Configuration Area
- Add and configure renaming rules
- Supports multiple rule types
- Can combine multiple rules
3. Action Button Area
- Execute rename
- Clear list
- Import/Export rules
Your First Rename
Let's learn the basic operations through a simple example:
Step 1: Add Files
There are three ways to add files:
Method 1: Drag and Drop
- Select files to rename from file manager
- Drag them into the Renamio window
- Files will be automatically added to the list
Step 2: Add a Rename Rule
Let's add a simple replacement rule:
- Click the "Add Rule" button
- Select "Text Replace" from the dropdown menu
- Enter the content to replace in the "Find text" box
- Enter the new content in the "Replace with" box
- Observe the preview changes in the file list
Step 3: Execute Rename
After confirming the preview results:
- Click the "Execute Rename" button
- Confirm the operation dialog
- Wait for processing to complete
- Review the processing results report
